Memorial services for Arline J. (Helle) Mason, age 80, will be held July 13 in Athens, Ga.

Arline died Monday, July 1, 2002, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

The daughter of John and Gena (Hofstad) Helle, Arline was born Jan. 14, 1922, on a farm in Freeman Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. She attended Rural School District 48 in Freeborn County

She attended Albert Lea High School and graduated with the class of 1939.

She was united in marriage to Wylie Mason in Los Angeles, Calif. During World War II she was employed at North American Aviation in Inglewood, Calif. Her special interests were her family and friends, cats, music and collecting antiques. She was an accomplished musician, playing her piano and accordion. She was, for many years, the organist at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. She also instructed piano lessons.

She is survived by her son, Forrest and his wife Bonnie and grandson, Scott Mason; also a daughter, Leslie Mason, of Athens, Ga.; two sisters from Albert Lea: Pearl Anderson and her husband Jay, and Evelyn Larson and her husband Carl; and also many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Gena Helle; and her husband, Wylie.
