James M. Goskeson, 73, Twin Lakes

Funeral services for James M. Goskeson, age 73, of Twin Lakes, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the Lunder Lutheran Church, rural Twin Lakes. The Rev. Tammy Dahlvang will officiate. Interment will be at Lunder Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Bayview/Freebom Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Jim died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at his home in Twin Lakes of natural causes.

James Melvin Goskeson was born Feb. 11, 1929, to Goske and Selma (Legried) Goskeson in Albert Lea. He attended the Barlow School and was a lifelong resident of Freeborn County. On April 1, 1972, Jim was united in marriage to Norma J. Olson at the Lunder Lutheran Parsonage. He was a tiler by trade and in later years drove a milk truck. Jim was a member of Lunder Lutheran Church and a life member of the NRA. He was a hunter and a trapper and loved the outdoors.

Survivors include his children: Michael L. Goskeson of Oroville, Calif., and his son, Judd; James L. Goskeson and wife Oralin of Owatonna; and Greg Goskeson and wife Diane of Kensett, Iowa, and their children, Jessica Tarvestead, Shane Goskeson, and Nate Goskeson; three great-grandchildren; step children: Lori Miller of Golden, Colo., and Jeffrey Olson of Danville, Calif.; brothers: George Goskeson and wife Delores, and Orville Goskeson and wife Irene, all of Albert Lea; sister, Evelyn Carlson and husband Ronald of Clarks Grove; sister-in-law, Betty Goskeson; and several step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma; brothers: Tommy and one in infancy; and step daughter, Diane Olson.
