Paul H. Schroeder, 66, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Paul H. Schroeder, age 66, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Wayne Halvorson will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the chapel.

Paul died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Paul H. Schroeder was born March 22,1936, to Henry and Luella (Earl) Schroeder in Austin. He attended and graduated from Austin High School in 1955. On July 6, 1957, Paul was united in marriage to June Culbert in Austin. He had been a member of the National Guard for many years and worked at Wilson’s for 36 years. He also worked as a custodian at the Emmons School. He enjoyed all kinds of sporting events, bowling, and playing bingo. Paul had been very involved in the local union.

Survivors include children: Joyce Bakke and husband Darryl of Albert Lea, Paul Schroeder and wife Cheryl of Albert Lea, Kathy Maricle and husband Clarence of Clarks Grove, and LaVern Schroeder of Albert Lea; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson; brother, Raymond Schroeder and wife Irene of Rochester; sister, Helen Randall and husband Roger of Albert Lea; brother, Duane Schroeder and wife Marian of Albert Lea; sister-in-law, Joyce Schroeder of Fargo, N.D.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; former wife, June Taylor of Albert Lea; and special friend, Kenny Stromley of St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Darrel; and niece, Karen.
