Larry William McClain, age 59, of Austin, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002 at the Muse Norris Inpatient Unit.

Larry was born Oct. 6, 1942 at Albert Lea, the son of Silas W. and Amy (Gettis) McClain. He graduated from the Forest City High School in 1960 and attended the Mason City Junior College. He worked as a boiler operator at Wilson and Farmland Foods in Albert Lea and more recently for Hormel Foods in Austin. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Austin and the Elks Club.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Austin, with the Rev. R. Allan Flint officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Forest City, Iowa. Friends may call at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, Austin, on Thursday from 5-7 p.m., and at the church for one hour before the services.

He is survived by children: Lisa Ann Cox and Federiko (Fred) Rendon of Austin, Dorothy Kennelly of Dewey, Okla., and Douglas Reinken of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren: Michael Kennelly, Miranda Kennelly, and Courtney Rendon; two great-grandchildren: Jylian and Madison Kennelly; mother, Amy Jamtgaard of Mason City, Iowa; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lois and Rodney

Carlson of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Louanna and Steve Lahner of Clear Lake, Iowa; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
