Leonard J. Johns, age 67, of Faribault, and formerly of Albert Lea, died on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at his home.

Funeral services will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Faribault, on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Finnegan officiating.

Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Friday, Aug. 30, from 4-8 p.m., and also at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Parish prayers will be recited at 5 p.m.

Leonard James, the son of Phillip and Cecilia (Duffrin) Johns, was born on May 10, 1935, in Waukegan, Ill. He attended Waukegan Township High School, Marquette University and served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Charlotte Molstad on July 20, 1985, in Faribault. Leonard was employed by Progress Castings of Albert Lea as the vice president of sales.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; seven children: Beth Johns of Minneapolis, Mark (and Debbie) Johns of Columbia, S.C., Matt (and Carmen) Johns of Milwaukee, Wis., Bea Johns of Mankato, Janet (and Rob) Patterson of Scottsdale, Ariz., Steve (and Lisa) Levi of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Laura Levi of Rosemount; seven grandchildren; one brother, George (and Norma) Johns of Huntington, Ind.; and six sisters: Marcile (and William) Ward of Clinton, Ill., Florence (and Norman) Lapell of Zion, Ill., Ivy (and Alan) Carnahan of Inwood, W.V., Margaret Stanczak of Gurnee, Ill., Lenore Burns of St. Louis, Mo., and Carol (and Wayne) Corey of Omaha, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Harriet Adams; and one brother, Charles.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorials be made to the Boys Home of Haiti, or Faribault Area Hospice.
