OWATONNA &045; It wasn’t that the Albert Lea High School girls’ soccer team faced an overpowering opponent.

The Tigers just did not play well.

Coach Todd Lange said the Tigers were lethargic from the outset while falling 3-1 at Owatonna Thursday night.

&uot;Overall, we were pretty sluggish tonight, and we paid the price,&uot; said Lange. &uot;They outplayed us.&uot;

It was scoreless, though, until the Huskies scored with two minutes left in the first half.

The Tigers tied it in the eighth minute of the second half. Amy Ravenhorst scored, Sydney Staloch assisted.

&uot;Then we played them even for a while, we played a real good 20 minutes, then we kind of let down again,&uot; said Lange.

Owatonna scored again with 11 and four minutes remaining.

The Huskies outshot the Tigers 11-9.

Liz Reynen had a great game in goal, according to Lange.

&uot;She made more saves than she should have had to,&uot; said Lange.

Also playing well were Ravenhorst, Katie Dooley and Steph Overgaard.

The JV tied 1-1. The C-squad did not play.

The Tigers, 3-2-3 in the Big Nine and 4-3-3 overall, face Mankato West Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hammer Field.
