Alverta Ella Davidson, 87, Lake Mills, Iowa

Funeral services for Alverta E. Davidson, age 87, of Lake Mills, Iowa, formerly of Emmons, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Mansfield Lutheran Church. The Rev. Don Rose officiated. Interment was in Lime Creek Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Bayview/Freebom Funeral Home and will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
Alverta died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at the Lake Mills Care Center.
Alverta Ella Davidson was born Jan. 22, 1915, to Edward and Anna (Menge) Katzung. She was a lifelong resident of the Emmons area. In September of 1944, Alverta was united in marriage to Denhard Davidson in Emmons. She was a former member of Lime Creek Lutheran Church and now a member of Mansfield Lutheran Church- Alverta was a homemaker and loved gardening, canning, and baking. She loved her grandchildren and made sure her Tupperware cookie jar was always full.
Survivors include her son, David Davidson and his wife Bonnie of Maplewood, Minn.; grandchildren: Dean Davidson and his wife Jill of St. Paul Park, Minn. and Adam Davidson of Two Rivers, Wis.; great-granddaughters: Isabel Suzanne and Grace Anne Davidson; sister, Marie Brackey of Albert Lea, and many nieces and nephews.
Alverta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Denhard; grandson, Bradley Donald; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Memorials are preferred to the Emmons Lime Creek Lutheran Church Restoration.
