Caroline Ida Nimz, 96, Frost

Funeral services for Caroline Ida Nimz, age 96, of Frost, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the United Lutheran Church in Frost. The Rev. Patricia Hinkle, the Rev. Ed Nieman and the Rev. Gary Terrio will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services, 10-11 a.m., at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the United Lutheran Cemetery, Frost.

She died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Home in Blue Earth.

Caroline was born April 3,1906, in Collins, Story County, Iowa, to Thomas Edwin and Mary Estella (Longnecker) Thompson. She married: Paul H. Nimz on Aug. 4,1928, in Northwood, Iowa.

Caroline attended Elmore High School and graduated in 1926. She then went on to Mankato Commercial College. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Frost, the American Legion Auxiliary ,and had been an active member of the Senior Citizens in Alden. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and gardening, and especially enjoyed being with her family and helping others.

She is survived by two daughters: Virginia and her husband Donald Amundson of Blue Earth, and Violet and husband Larry Young of Alden; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucile Huber of Blue Earth;

and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister, Martha.

Arrangements are by the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home, Bricelyn.
