Clement A. Yokiel, 91, Wells

Funeral services for Clement A. Yokiel, age 91, of Wells, will be 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 18, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday with rosary at 9:15 a.m.

Interment will be in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery, Wells.

He died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at Parkview Care Center in Wells.

He was born

May 19, 1911, in Dunbar Township, Faribault County, the son of John and Mary (Sonnek) Yokiel. He married Helen Sonnek on Oct. 20, 1936, in Minnesota Like.

Clem was a lifelong resident of the Wells area where be farmed all of his life, moving into Wells in 1969. He was a life member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. He was a member of the National Farmer’s Organization (NFO). He enjoyed reading and riding through the countryside looking at the rural scenery.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Yokiel of Wells; four sons: Donald and wife Deanna Yokiel of Wells, George and wife Leona Yokiel of Wells, Ray and wife Marti Yokiel of Wells, and Chuck and wife Sally Yokiel of Wells; three daughters: Mary and husband Gerry Schultz of Richmond, Va., Ann and husband Pat McNaab of Lansing, Mich., and Rita and husband Charles Gravely of Avon, Mont.; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; one brother, James and wife Janet Yokiel of Wells; three sisters: Angela and husband Dan Chirpich of Wells, Sister Lydia Mary of Chicago, Ill., and Sister Mary Therese of Chicago, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Colette Wanzek, and brother, John Yokiel.
