Doris Grace Coyle, age 81, of Waterville, died on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.

Born on Aug. 5, 1921, in Albert Lea, she was the daughter of David and Grace (Christophersen) Petersen. She attended Albert Lea High School. She married Paul Coyle on June 29,1940, in Northwood, Iowa. She was employed at Beck’s in Minneapolis before moving to Waterville in 1969 where she later worked for the University of Minnesota-Waseca. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, baking, cake decorating, spending time with her family, and baby-sitting her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Paul of Waterville; one son, Richard Coyle and his wife Judy of Nevada, Mo.; three daughters: Connie Johnson and her husband Gary of Minneapolis, Cathy Smith and her husband Jerry of Brooklyn Park, and Melodee Bokelmann and her husband John of New Richland, 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Orville Petersen and his wife Dorothy of Albert Lea, and two sisters: Pat Benson and her husband Tom of Hartland, and Elaine Bjelland of Rochester.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael; one grandson, Donald Johnson; and two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 4-7 p.m. at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville.
