Dorothy Scott, 77, Albert Lea

The funeral services for Dorothy Scott, 77, of Bancroft Creek Estates in Albert Lea will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. Pastor Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.

Dorothy died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002 at her home.

Dorothy was born June 12, 1925 in Wilmar, Minnesota to Sigurd and Olaila (Eliason) Nelson. Dorothy resided in Wilmar, Minnesota, Coos Bay, Oregon and since 1942, Albert Lea throughout her life. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1943. September 13, 1946 Dorothy married Benjamin Scott. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and it’s circles, Bible studies, and Prayer requests. Dorothy worked for Sears, First National Bank, Farmers Insurance and Gordon Electric. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, counted cross stitching, reading, sewing, playing cards, cats and dogs, going to concerts at the Edgewater Band Shell, and going to soup and pie dinners. Dorothy was a very social person and especially enjoyed helping others.

Dorothy is survived by two children: Brenda and her husband Duane Juveland of Owatonna, Minnesota and Craig Scott and his wife Nancee of Melbourne Australia; grandchildren: Michelle and her husband Tim Brownewell, Jennifer and her husband Shannon Honza. Chais, Tony, Phillip, Christopher, Marissa and Matthew Scott; great grandchildren: Benjamin and Zachary Brownewell; sister Arlene Schmid and her husband Don of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; stepmother: Grace Nelson of Minneapolis.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin in 1996; parents, sisters: Audrey Freeman, Olyla Thoelke and her aunt and uncle who raised her, Bertha and Ole Hove.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred by her family.
