Marie Helen Farr, 82, Owatonna

The funeral service for Marie Helen Farr will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the First Lutheran Church, Ellendale. The Rev. Arne Halbakken will officiate. Burial will be in Geneva Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Ellendale, and one hour before the service at the church.

Marie died on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at Owatonna Hospital, Owatonna. She was 82 years old.

Marie was born in Steele County on Nov. 7, 1919, the daughter of Charley and Rose (Srsen) Guse. She was a lifelong resident of Steele County and attended Steele Center rural school.

On Dec. 11, 1948, Marie was united in marriage with Harry Warren Farr at the Associated Church, Owatonna. Marie worked as a waitress at various restaurants in Owatonna and Ellendale. She was interested in the Ellendale community and volunteered her sewing talents for social service organizations. She helped the quilters at First Lutheran Church make quilts and she also made over 200 quilts at her home and donated them to First Lutheran Church.

Marie is survived by one daughter, DonnaMae McCamish and Craig Budenske of Ellendale; one son, Ronald Farr of Ellendale; one granddaughter, Chanelle McCamish of Ellendale; two great-granddaughters: Whittney and Sydney McCamish of Ellendale; and many nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry, in 1984; two brothers: Albert and Robert Guse; and one sister, Martha Warsinski.
