Funeral services for Marvel L. Severtson, age 78, of Kasson, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kasson. The Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Dibble Funeral Home, Kasson, and one hour before the services at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea.

Mrs. Severtson died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at her daughter’s home in Newburgh, Ind. She had been there a month.

Marvel L. Hverven was born on Dec. 30, 1923, in Albert Lea. She married Don N. Severtson on Feb. 3, 1946, in Albert Lea.

She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1941. She and her husband moved to Kasson in 1957. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kasson, and the Dodge County Homemakers.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Scott) Larsen of Newburgh, Ind.; two sons: Gary (Gail) Severtson of Mound, Minn., and Todd (Valerie) Severtson of Cincinnati, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1985.

Memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kasson.
