Funeral service for Ruth Langerud, age 92, of Lake Mills, Iowa, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Salem Lutheran Church, Lake Mills, with the Rev. Kevin Mackey and the Rev. Roger Dykstra officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, Lake Mills, and again one hour before services at the church. Burial will be at Salem Memorial Cemetery, Lake Mills.

Ruth Langerud passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at Lake Mills Care Center.

Ruth B. Arnevik Langerud was born on Sept. 26, 1909, in Albert City, Iowa, the daughter of Engemar and Paulena (Nordhus) Arnevik.

Ruth was united in marriage to Maynard Stanford Langerud on Dec. 8, 1927. They farmed in Newton Township near Leland, Iowa. Maynard passed away July 25, 1969.

On Nov. 24, 1973, Ruth married John Mouw.

She is survived by her five children: Calmer and his wife Muriel Langerud of Clear Lake, Iowa, Duane and his wife Myrna Langerud of Lake Mills, Iowa, Ernest and his wife Sue Langerud of Leland, Iowa, Sally and her husband James Bevan of Ottumwa, Iowa, and David Langerud of St. Paul. Ruth is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Debra Swanson, Dennis Langerud, Doreen Gooding, Alan Langerud, Ann Benzshawel, Amber Hollar, Jon Bevan, James A. Bevan, Julie Groman, Melinda Farland and Michael Langerud; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maynard, her husband; John, and an infant brother.
