Sletten enjoys helping, comforting

Jackie Sletten values her time helping Richard and Harriet Moore, and feels it is a way to give back after she has been so blessed.

“Our greatest purpose on earth is to be there for people,” Sletten said.

Sletten also volunteers at the Crossroads Community Hospice. She will visit patients who are dying and provides them with a friendly face, as well as giving the spouse a chance to run some errands, while not leaving the patient alone. Seeing people in their last moments of life, has given Sletten a chance to value everything she has in her life.

Sletten spends about three hours a week with her patients through the hospice and feels that it is a privilege to be let in on such private moments.
