Stuart Botten of Mahtomedi, Minn., died on Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at the Veterans Home in St. Paul. He was 75 years old.

He served in the Navy during the Second World War.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Emily and Alfred Botten of St. Paul, and his brother, Harvey Botten of Albert Lea.

Stuart has three children: Patrick, Lynn and Barbara. There are four grandchildren.

Visitation is planned at the Willwerscheid and Peters Mortuary in St. Paul from 5-7 p.m. on Monday evening, Sept. 23, with a private burial on Tuesday morning.

Stu, a graduate of the University of Minnesota, was well known for his beautiful water color paintings in the Twin City area and in Albert Lea. He was a staunch supporter of Art in the Park.

He will be missed by his family and his friends.

The family prefers memorials to the Albert Lea Art Center.
