David Harlan Johnson, 64, Austin

David Harlan Johnson, age 64, of Austin, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Austin Medical Center Emergency Room.

David H. Johnson was born April 26, 1938, at Blooming Prairie, the son of Palmer and Ora (Hanson) Johnson. He graduated from the Blooming Prairie High School in 1956 and attended the Austin Vocational-Technical School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was married to Patricia Anne Lightley on March 17, 1961, at Mason City, Iowa. He worked as a mechanic for H&S Carburetor and Electric, L.C.L. Transit and A.B.F. Freight, retiring on Sept. 25, 1998. David was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Teamsters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a infant brother, Marvin Dean; and brother, Gale.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12,

at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with The Rev. Roberta Flood officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be held at The Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, Austin, from 5-8 p.m. Friday, and at the church for one hour before the service on Saturday.

He is survived by wife, Pat Johnson of Austin; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Brad Stout of Austin, sons and daughters-in-law: Ross and Mary Johnson of Rochester, and Wade and Grace Johnson of Spring Valley; grandchildren: Samantha and David Stout, Cory Johnson, and Sydney and Sophia Johnson; sisters and brothers-in-law: Beverly and Joe Swenson of Blooming Prairie, Marlys and Richard Spinler of Austin, and Hjordes and Bruce Ebling of Blooming Prairie; brother and sisters-in-law: Darrell and Mary Ann Johnson of Blooming Prairie, and Sharon Johnson of Geneva; mother-in-law, Clarice Lightley of Austin; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Karen and Roger Kruger of Austin, and Dean Lightley of Austin; and nieces and nephews.
