Doris Wolgamot, 83, St. Paul

Doris Wolgamot, age 83, died Thursday in St. Paul, Minn. A graduate of St. Olaf College and of Mankato State, she taught seventh grade English for many years in Albert Lea. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, an active participant in Albert Lea Community Theater, a member of the American Association of University Women, a volunteer and board member for the Freeborn County Museum, The Freeborn County Mental Health Board and Meals on Wheels. For more than 50 years, she was a PEO member.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh, who died in 1964 and by a son, John. She is survived by five children, Susan Smith (Robert), Columbia, Md.; Steve Wolgamot (Karen), Mahtomedi, Minn.; Scott Wolgamot (Sandra), Coffs Harbour, Australia; Sarah Waldemar (Michael), Rosemount, Minn.; and Ann Wolgamot, Mahtomedi, Minn., and by her 10 grandchildren, Megan Malvey (Michael), Amanda Smith, Gabriel Nielsen (Jennifer), Doug Wolgamot, Bobby Smith, Brittany Waldemar, Hugh Wolgamot, Chris Waldemar, Graerne Wolgamot and Elliot Wolgamot.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, Oct. 29. At 2:30. Memorials are preferred to PEO Continuing Education Fund. She will always be remembered by her children and grandchildren. For them, she found no task ever too large, no sacrifice ever too great.
