Today is the first of three days when the Tribune’s editorial page will contain our editorial board’s endorsements for local and state elections, which take place Nov. 5.

Today, we offer our opinions on the major Freeborn County races: Sheriff and for Fourth District Commissioner.

Endorsements were based on information gained through any or all of: interviews, questionairres, and debates and public appearances.

Sunday: Albert Lea city races and state legislative offices.

Monday: Governor and U.S. Senator.

We will accept letters to the editor on the elections until Oct. 31.
