Underdog Twins topple A’s

the A’s 5-4 Sunday to win the best-of-five first-round playoff

series and advance to the American League Championship Series

against the Anaheim Angels. Game one is Tuesday evening, with

the Twins’ Joe Mays expected to take the mound against Kevin Appier.
