Memorial services for Virginia (Lowry) Hillman, age 87, a former resident of Hollandale, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at the First Methodist Church at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Mrs. Hillman died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at Martha and Mary Nursing Home in Poulsbo, Wash., after complications of a stroke.

She and her husband, Kenneth had farmed at Hollandale and at Mt. Pleasant before buying a ranch near LaSalle, Colo. After Kenneth passed away in 1966, she was a housemother at several colleges in Iowa, Kansas, and New Mexico, retiring to Arizona in 1971. She later moved to Poulsbo, Wash., to be near family.

Immediate survivors : two daughters: Jacquelyn and Sharon; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Her son also preceded her in death.
