Erliss lone Jensen, 89, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Erliss lone Jensen of 609 Giles Place, Albert Lea, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Clayton Balsley will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.

Erliss died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 at her home. She was 89 years old.

Erliss was born March 26, 1913, in Albert Lea, to Elmer and Thora (Jensen) Petersen. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and Hamline University, St. Paul. Erliss has been a resident of Albert Lea most of her life. She married Harry Jensen in 1933. He passed away in 1980. Erliss was a member of First Baptist Church and church circle. She also belonged to WIG (Women Investment Group), bridge club and Eastern Star. Erliss loved playing bridge and other card games, doing crossword puzzles, flowers and gardening, crocheting and knitting, and spending time with her family.

Erliss is survived by three children, Janis Owens and her husband Bruce of Albert Lea, Richard Jensen and his wife Margaret of Coon Rapids, and Mark Jensen and his wife Deb of Algona, Iowa; daughter-in-law: Lona Jensen of Benson, Ariz., grandchildren: David Owens and his wife Colleen, Karla Jensen, Patrick Jensen, Kristin Jensen, Matthew Jensen and his wife Melissa, Sarah Jensen, Heather Jensen, Alex Jensen and Brian Jensen; great-grandchildren: Cassi Owens, Melissa Owens, Taylor Jensen; step grandchildren: Scott Quinn, Jamie Quinn, Jarrod Quinn; cousin: Bernice Nelson of Minneapolis; brother-in-law Harold Freedman, his daughters Margaret and Charlotte; and numerous other family and friends.

Erliss was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry and son Stuart. Erliss loved well and will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Memorials are preferred to First Baptist Church or Albert Lea Youth For Christ.
