Grace Ulmen, 97, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Grace Ulmen, age 97, of Albert Lea will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Greg Ciesluk will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Grace died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Grace Ulmen was born Nov. 8, 1905, in Mankato. She grew up in Albert Lea and attended Albert Lea Schools. Grace was united in marriage to Clem Ulmen in 1922. She had been a homemaker all her life and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, George Ulmen and his friend, Marge Jensen of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Rebecca Carter of Wichita Falls, Texas, Tim Ulmen of Rockwell, Texas, Stephanie Hatch of St. Peter, Mo., Christine Wade of Plano, Texas, and Todd Ulmen also of Plano; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Flanagan of Albert Lea; sisters, Caroline Troe of Albert Lea and Alice Severtson and her husband Jerry of Stratford, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lulu Flanagan; stepbrothers, Frank, Seymore, and Bill; sister, Viola; and stepsisters, Agnes and Gerry.
