Authorities confiscated almost a kilogram of cocaine from an Albert Lea house Friday during a drug bust, and two residents are charged with intent to sell the drugs, valued at almost $1 million.
Albert Lea police and members of a regional drug task force executed a search warrant at 327 W. Main St. in Albert Lea Friday and seized 970 grams of cocaine, police said.
Authorities arrested Rafael Gallardo Jr., 32, and his wife, Carolina Pena, 33. The pair was charged with first degree possession of cocaine with intent to sell in district court Monday. The judge set their bail at $200,000 each.
The drug is valued at around $100 per gram, making the street value of the drugs seized around $970,000.
The South Central Drug Task Force, a regional entity that assists in drug investigations, was part of the latest Albert Lea bust, police said.
