Sandra A. Banuelos, who is accused of helping assault and rob a pizza delivery person, has pled guilty, and a trial that had been scheduled to start today has been cancelled.

According to the criminal complaints, a group of three adults and two juveniles assaulted Nicholas Joseph Nesse, a delivery person from Domino’s Pizza, with an axe handle, and stole $16.10 and a pizza at the driveway of 106 West 11th St. around midnight on May 20.

Nesse was hit on his head with the axe handle. He was airlifted to a Rochester hospital through Albert Lea Medical Center. The injury involved a skull fracture and three-inch cut on his temple, and Nesse lost peripheral vision in his left eye and sense of taste and smell.

Banuelos and her boyfriend, Jason Michael Sokolofsky, who has also entered a guilty plea, drove the car but did not engage in the violence.

The other adult allegedly involved, Juan Miguel Sanchez, is asking for a trial.
