Funeral services for Hazel M. Amundson, age 94, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Chaplain Monrad Mandsager will officiate. Interment will be in North Round Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Hazel died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Hazel Marie Amundson was born Feb. 15, 1908, to Anton and Agnes Amundson in Freeman Township, Freeborn County. She attended District #47 School. Hazel worked as a housekeeper and had been employed at Woolworth’s for three years. She moved to St. John’s in 1987 from Belmont Street. Hazel was a member of Round Prairie Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and loved growing flowers.

Survivors include sister, Mattie Martinson of Lake Mills, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Katherine Amundson of Northwood, Iowa, and Veva Amundson of Albert Lea; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; Arthur, Maynard, Alf, Alfred, Walter, and Henry; brother-in-law, Orville Martinson; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Olga and Lester Marpe, Stella and Julius Hoverson, Alice and Peter Tveite, and Clara and Chuck Warrington; sister, Alma Larson; and nephew, Kermit Marpe.
