Ione Gloraine Dombroske, 96, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Ione Gloraine Dombroske of the Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.

Ione was born Dec. 25, 1906 at Wells, the daughter of Kelsey and Alma Roberts. Ione graduated from Wells High School in 1924. She was united in marriage with Eddie Dombroske on June 16, 1926. Ione worked for Queen Stove Works until Eddie and Ione bought Eddie’s Bar in 1938. They owned and operated the Bar until 1970. Ione enjoyed tennis, bowling, playing bridge and most of all playing golf. Ione and Eddie were great fans of the Minnesota Gopher Football Team and attended all their games for 50 years. They were also season ticket holders for the Minnesota Vikings from 1960 to 1976. Every year from 1949 to 1976 they also attended the Indy 500. Ione enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren: Suzie and Lisa, and great-grandson, Brady.

Ione was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie Dombroske; sister, Ethel Kipp, and brother-in-law, Gerald Kipp, of Waldorf, Minn.

lone is survived by her son, James Dombroske and his wife Myla of Albert Lea; granddaughters: Suzanne Plautz and her husband J. R. of Pillager, Minn., and Lisa Dombroske of Burnsville, Minn.; great-grandson Brady of Pillager;

and several nieces and nephews.

Ione was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
