When Doug Lind’s first son joined the Cub Scouts, he wanted to make sure his son got the best experience possible.

Lind has been a Cubmaster, currently runs the Tiger Cub Den and is a Boy Scout Troop committee member.

“It’s kind of the way I am,” Lind said about his leadership roles with both Cub and Boy Scouts. Lind is also a past president of the Eagles Club.

Lind believes somebody needs to be steering the ship in order for the boys to get anything out of their scouting experience.

Lind enjoys his roles with the Scouts because of the interaction he has with the kids.

“I enjoy it a lot,” he said. “It’s fun to watch the boys grow.”

Lind also likes to bring new experiences to the boys and introduce them to things they would not get other places.

“All of a sudden, they’re doing something you would have never dreamed of. Like chasing snakes or touching worms,” Lind said.

Lind also feels that scouting helps him grow as a person as he works with the boys.

“Every day, I learn,” he said.
