Viola Anderson, 92, Albert Lea

The funeral services for 92-year-old Viola E. Anderson of Thorne Crest North will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday,. Jan. 8, at the East Freeborn Lutheran Church of rural Albert Lea. The Rev. David Hernes will officiate. Visitation will be at the Bonnerup Funeral Service on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.
Viola died Saturday, Jan 4, 2003, at Thorne Crest.
Viola Elizabeth Anderson was born Jan. 2, 1911, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Peter C. and Alma (Engen) Nelson. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She graduated from Albert Lea High School.
She was employed as a bookkeeper at Johnson Laundry, Deluxe Cleaners and Arnold Plumbing in Albert Lea.
On Nov. 2, 1952, she married Ernest A. Anderson.
She was a member of East Freeborn Lutheran Church, and its Altar Guild, Women of the Church and Mission Circle No. 2. She was a member of the Danish Brotherhood.
She is survived by a stepson, Paul G. Anderson (Beverly) of Albert Lea; a stepdaughter, Margaret Flugum of Lake Mills, Iowa; and a very special step granddaughter, Lori Flugum of Albert Lea, whom she raised like a daughter. She is also survived by step grandchildren: Pauline Condon (Mike) of Fargo, N.D., and David Anderson (Patricia) and Robert (Karen) Anderson of Albert Lea; seven step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1992; sisters: Helen Jorgensen and Harriet Nelsen; brothers: Harold, Leo, Leland Wilber and Harry Nelson; step son-in-law, Duane Flugum; and two step grandchildren: Ronald and Elaine Anderson.
