Beulah C. Paulson, 84, Albert Lea

Beulah C. Paulson, age 84, of Albert Lea, formerly of Alden, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at the United Methodist Church in Alden. The Rev. Lynn Borgeson will officiate. Visitation will be at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells today, March 4, from 5-8 p.m., and visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Alden Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 18, 1918, in Nauvoo, Ill., the daughter of Wesley and Mary (Seigfreid) Bright. She married Clifford J. Paulson on Oct. 24, 1940, at the United Methodist Church in Alden.

Beulah graduated from Winnebago High School. They farmed in the Alden area and moved into Alden in 1978. Cliff and Beulah hosted 12 U. of M. exchange students while on the farm. She moved to Knutson Place in 2001. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and its UMW. She was also a member of the Alden Get Together Club and enjoyed playing cards, gardening, fishing, and the Minnesota Twins.

She is survived by one son, James (wife Emelie) Paulson of Albert Lea; two daughters: Kathryn (husband Dwaine) Weydert of Bode, Iowa, and Mary (husband Steve) Stoneback of Alden; six grandchildren: Nanci (husband Scott) Lifer, Melissa (husband Justin) Wilson, James (wife Cindi) Goodmanson, Carolyn (husband Mark) Schmidt, Mark Stoneback (fianc Jessie Rouse), and Wes Stoneback; six great-grandchildren; seven step grandchiIdren; five step great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jane “Polly” (husband Leonard) Thompson of Bloomington; two brothers: Charles (wife Phyllis) Bright of Morris, Minn., and Wayne “Pete” (wife Muriel) Bright of Cyrus, Minn.; three sisters-in-law: Goldie Buendorf and Arvilla Paulson of Alden, and Dorothy Trombley of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1996; one son-in-law, Paul Goodmanson; and one sister, Dorothy Thompson.
