Amanda Rose saw an announcement at school and knew she wanted to help out.

The announcement was seeking volunteers to help with the Reading Partners program.

The program provides elementary and middle school students help with their reading assignments. The partners meet the students one or twice a week at their school and help them with whatever reading assignments the students have. Teachers will sometimes ask the partners to help students if they have trouble in certain areas.

Rose decided to get involved because she wanted to help people learn.

&uot;It’s fun when they start to learn,&uot; she said.

Rose meets with the same student every Monday and Thursday in the Sibley Elementary media center.

&uot;It’s just a lot of fun. I like helping people,&uot; she said. &uot;It’s nice to get out and get involved.&uot;
