Leonna Lee Svoboda, age 64, of Waseca, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.

Born in Hartley, Iowa, on Aug. 13, 1938, she was the daughter of Ralph and Elsie (Wiechert) Hewitt. She attended school in Hartley, Iowa; Round Grove, Red Oak and Avilla, Mo., and graduated from Hartley High School in Hartley, Iowa.

She was employed at the E. F. Johnson Co. in Waseca from 1959 until 1965.

She married Leonard Frank Svoboda on May 20, 1960, in Waseca and worked as a homemaker.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca and enjoyed genealogy, walking and reading.

She is survived by one son, Brian Svoboda and his wife Julie of New Richland; and two grandsons: Anthony and Kyle Svoboda of New Richland.

She is also survived by one brother, Kenny Hewitt of Lander, Wyo.; one sister-in-law, Wanda Hewitt of Casper, Wyo.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers: Kurt, Keith and Korwin Hewitt; and one sister-in-law, Linda Hewitt.

Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals, Waseca,

on Sunday, June 22, from 2-6 p.m., and continue on Monday one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with the Rev. Paul Stambaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
