Funeral services for Corey D. Holman, age 23, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Christ Episcopal Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. James Young will officiate. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today, July 11, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Corey died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at his home in Albert Lea.

Corey David Holman was born June 9, 1980, to Sean David and Barbara J. (Minehart) Holman in Milwaukee, Wis. He grew up and attended school in Milwaukee, moving to Albert Lea in November of 1997. Corey enjoyed music and art. He wrote song lyrics and was a gifted artist.

Survivors include his son, Brenden Holman of Albert Lea; Brenden’s mother, Abby Tripp of Albert Lea; special friend, Amanda Stoa of Albert Lea; his mother, Barbara and her husband Scott Reynolds of Albert Lea; his father, Sean Holman of Houston, Texas; sister, Shannon and her husband Andrew Berklund of Albert Lea; grandparents: Beverly and Jerry Blakeslee of Albert Lea, and the Rev. Jack and June Holman of Houston, Texas; very special nephews: Zachary Ostrenga and Nathaniel Berklund, both of Albert Lea; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Corey was preceded in death by his grandfather, Niles Minehart; great-grandparents: Orville Sr. and Lucille Truesdell, Charles and Vi Minehart, and Ron and Hattie Blakeslee; and uncle, Mark Minehart.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
