Tope, three others are charged in meth bust

Three Albert Lea men and one woman were charged Monday with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, aiding and abetting the manufacture of methamphetamine and attempt to manufacture methamphetamine.

The South Central Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at an Albert Lea house at 934 3rd Ave. on Saturday.

If convicted, Shawn Casey Tope, Anthony Lee Weber, Theresa Ann Miranda and Anthony Bernard Hernandez could each face a combined sentence of 45 years in prison and a $2.5 million fine.

Tope was also arrested Nov. 7, 2001 in a meth lab raid along with his brother, Jason. Shawn later accepted a plea deal and Jason was sentenced to 153 months in prison.
