Diana Gail Fossum, 45, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Diana Gail Fossum will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. Services will be conducted by St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Austin with the Rev. Robert Wehrwein officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Diana Gail (Klatt) Fossum, daughter of Edmund and Elna (Mischke) Klatt, was born Dec. 2, 1957, in Watertown, S.D. She was adopted into the family of God through the sacrament of baptism on Dec. 15, 1957, and confirmed in the faith of Jesus Christ on June 18, 1972. By this Savior she was carried safely through the afflictions of this world into the presence of God where there is &uot;fullness of joy&uot; – Psalms 16:9-11.

On Oct. 1, 1977, Diana married Randy Fossum in Watertown, S.D. In the years that followed, they were blessed with three daughters.

Diana was an active member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Austin. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who asked little for herself and was always willing to help those in need.

She was surrounded by her family on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, when she was taken by Jesus to her home in heaven, at the age of 45 years.

Diana is survived by her husband, Randy of Albert Lea; three daughters: Kara and her husband Jason Jacobusse of Clarks Grove, Erica Fossum and Mariah Fossum, both of Albert Lea; two grandchildren: Lydia and Simon Jacobusse; her parents: Edmund and Elna Klatt of Watertown, S.D.; her brothers: David and wife Rosie Klatt of Watertown, and John and wife Kris Klatt of Rapid City, S.D.; father-in-law, Elmer Fossum of Austin; sister-in-law, Vickie and husband Jim Kauffman of Brownsdale; brother-in-law, Vance and wife Christine Fossum of West Columbia, S.C.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
