Funeral services for Linda Werner, age 97, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Interment will be in Wanderer’s Rest Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the services.

Linda died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Linda Werner was born October 22, 1905, to William and Elise Lau in Shell Rock Township. She attended country school in Gordonsville. On July 1, 1926, Linda was united in marriage to Paul Werner. They were later divorced. Linda had worked for many farm families in the Northwood, Glenville, Blue Earth and Alden areas. In later years, she worked for Elmer Kreiger. Linda was a member of First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea and had lived at St. John’s since Aug. 24, 1977. Flowers and gardening were some of her favorite things.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, special family members, Luetta Wolff and her family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arthur and wife Ethel Lau; sisters: Tillie and husband Werner Wahlers, and Irma and husband Arthur Behl; and special friend, Elmer Kreiger, of Wells.

St. John’s Lutheran Home was very special to Linda, having lived there for 26 years. The family would like to thank the staff at St. John’s for their many years of care.
