Gordon Hanson, 65, Clarks Grove

Memorial services for Gordon A. Hanson, age 65, of Clarks Grove, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at First Baptist Church in Clarks Grove. Friends may greet the family from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Roger Davies will officiate. Interment will be in Clarks Grove Cemetery. Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Gordy died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Gordon Allan Hanson was born March 10, 1938, to Raynard and Gladys (Thompson) Jepson and later adopted by Robert S. and Annie (Christensen) Hanson. He attended rural schools in Freeborn County and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1956. Gordy farmed on the family farm before going to work at Wilson & Company. He was married to Barbara Megraw in 1958 in Austin and later divorced. Gordy enjoyed hunting, especially fox; skydiving and he was the founder of Grandpa’s Jump Fest; time with his pets; time spent with family and friends; and hot-air ballooning.

Survivors include his daughters, Christie and her husband Dennis Fox of St. Clair and Kimberly Hanson and her fianc Ron Hansen of Mapleton; grandsons, Benjamin and Brandon Stori; brother, Raynold and his wife Bunny Jepson of Albert Lea; half-brothers and sisters: Gary Jepson, Allan Jepson, Robin Jepson and Julie Eckert; nephews, Steven and his wife Jackie Jepson and David and his wife Tammie Jepson; niece, Jamie and her husband Rande Nelson; and cousins.

Gordy was preceded in death by his biological parents and his adoptive parents, Robert and Annie.
