Kathlyn ‘Kay’ Eva Wilcox, 73, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Kathlyn E. Wilcox, age 73, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Christ Episcopal Church. The Rev. James Young will officiate. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Kathlyn died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Kathlyn Eva Wilcox was born Aug. 25, 1930, to Frank and Marguerite (Pue) Ritacco in Virginia, Minn. She graduated from Orr High School in 1949.

On March 3, 1951, Kay was united in marriage to Frank Wilcox in Virginia. She waitressed for many years at various establishments in Albert Lea. Kay and Frank also owned the Crown Billiards from 1968-1976. Through the years, she was often referred to as &uot;Ma&uot; and cherished the many special friendships she had developed. Kay was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Eagles.

Survivors include her husband, Frank of Albert Lea; children: Lynda and her husband Thomas Dahl of Albert Lea, Frank Wilcox Jr. of Albert Lea, Lynel and her husband Gary Deyo of Austin, and Lynae and her husband Mike Anderson of Rapid City, S.D.; grandchildren: Allan Carey, Amy Lyn Rye, Mic Wilcox, Tyler Wilcox, and Ben Anderson; great-grandson, Derek Carey; sisters, Larayne and husband John Kunelius of Saginaw, Minn., and Marilyn Greiner of Britt, Minn.; brother, Donald and wife Betty Ritacco of Virginia, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James; sister, Patricia; daughter-in-law, Pamela Wilcox; and son-in-law, Dennis Rye.
