Eva Posthumus, 87, Hollandale

Funeral services for Eva Posthumus, age 87, of Hollandale, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at the Hollandale Reformed Church. The Rev. William M. Hoffman will officiate. Interment will be in the Hollandale Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Eva died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

Eva Posthumus was born Dec. 18, 1916, to Case and Susie (Artson) Kraay in Hollandale. She attended Albert Lea schools and graduated from Albert Lea High School. On April 19, 1939, Eva was united in marriage to Pete Posthumus in Hollandale. She was a lifelong resident of Hollandale, a member of the Hollandale Reformed Church, and a homemaker. Eva especially enjoyed playing games with family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Elaine and her husband Barry Hoffman and their children: Daniel Hoffman, Carol and her husband David Buendorf and their children, Payton and Lauren, and Lori Brenegan and her children, Treavor and Caleb; son, Richard and his wife Diane Posthumus and their children: Greg Posthumus, and Jeff and his wife Karen Posthumus and their children, Kristin, Kayla, and Mariah; brothers: Ralph, Cornie, Bob, and Jim Kraay; and sisters, Gertie Silvis and Sue Veldman.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Pete Posthumus.
