Lloyd William Bork, 90, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Lloyd W. Bork, age 90, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at Bayview.

Lloyd died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Lloyd William Bork was born Feb. 19, 1913, to Albert and Emma (Smith) Bork in Nashua, Iowa. He attended Grafton Public School. On May 28, 1936, Lloyd was united in marriage to Evelyn Bush. He owned and operated an Allis Chalmers dealership from 1945 to 1970. The couple has lived in Albert Lea for the last 35 years. Lloyd had been employed as a mechanic at the Freeborn County Maintenance Shop before retiring. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church before joining Trinity Lutheran Church in 1974. Lloyd enjoyed fishing, playing cards, traveling, and bowling.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of St. John’s; daughters: Connie Bork of Las Vegas, Nev., Willa and her husband Delmar Sanderson of rural Glenville, Sharyn and her husband Phillip Swensrud of Albert Lea, and Janet and her husband Joe Mildenberger of Apple Valley; grandchildren: Michael and his wife Darci Sanderson of Glenville, Rebecca and her husband Scott Bachtle of Albert Lea, Michelle Sanderson of Albert Lea, Lisa and her husband Donald Dowd of Struthers, Ohio, and Tanya and her husband Brad Fjelsta of Albert Lea; and 13 great-grandchildren and another one soon.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ernie, Laurence, Harry, Albert, and Alfred; and sister, Carolyn O’Neil.
