Beulah M. Joel, 84, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Beulah M. Joel, age 84, of Albert Lea, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today, March 1, at Bayview, and one hour prior to the service.

Beulah died on Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Beulah Marcella Joel was born on Sept. 24, 1919, in Wells, the daughter of Herman E. and Martha H. (Schroeder) Boettcher. She grew up and lived here all of her life. Beulah was a homemaker and a caretaker for her handicapped granddaughter, Tina Lynn. She was well known for her homemade french fries and doughnuts. Beulah loved country western music, dancing, and embroidery.

Survivors include her children: James Joel Sr. and his wife Marcella of Badger, Minn., Martha Parkhurst of St. Paul, Omar B. Joel of Albert Lea, Laura M. Joel of Albert Lea, Charles and his wife Judy Joel, of Austin, Kathleen and her husband Whitney Reim of Albert Lea, Roy and his wife LuWanna Joel of Albert Lea, Gene and his wife Lynn Joel of Albert Lea, and Sherry and her husband Steve Christenson of Eagle Bend, Minn.; 25 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
