The funeral service for Dorothea Ovedia Nelson Anderson, of St. John’s Lutheran Home, will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at St John’s Lutheran Home Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Laeger Hagemeister will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea.

Dorothea died at St. John’s Lutheran Home on Monday, March 29, 2004.

Dorothea was born on March 29, 1918, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Orville and Clara Marie “Mary” (Donahue) Nelson. She attended the Albert Lea Public Schools.

She married John “Ham” Anderson on June 22,1934, in Northwood, Iowa. They lived in Arizona and California and her later years in Albert Lea. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran in Albert Lea.

Tuddy was a housewife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and making good meals for her family and husband.

She was a life member of the VFW.

Anderson Jr. and his wife Marlene of Chino, Calif., Mary Jane Stevens and her husband Dwight of Albert Lea, and Sandra Fischer and her husband Bobby of Carson City, Nev.; grandchildren: Deb Polley and her husband Dick of Albert Lea, Stan “Gene” Smith and his wife Audrey of Lakeville, Minn., John Smith and wife Barb of Eyota, Minn., John Anderson III and fiance’ Beth Phillips of Albert Lea, Janine Brooks of Chino, Calif., David Anderson of Chino, Calif., Clint Stevens and his wife DeAnn of Albert Lea, Jaclyn Flatten and her husband Tony of Albert Lea, Cole Stevens and wife Krystal of Albert Lea, Cammie Hupp of Oak Harbor, Wash., Candice McBride of Carson City, Nev., and Jimmy Carroll of Oak Harbor, Wash.; great-grandchildren: Angela Thostenson, Jessica Abbott(Brad), R.J. Dorothea was preceded in passing by her parents; her loving husband; son, Glen; daughter, Jane, in infancy; son-in-law, John Bergland; grandson, Jay Bergland; sister, Ardith Nelson; and brothers: Glen “Bud&uot; Nelson and Jim Nelson.
