Sylvan P. Lewis, age 97, of Cartersville, Ga., died Monday, March 1, 2004.
Mr. Lewis was born Oct. 8, 1906, in Thompson, Iowa, a son of the late G.E. Lewis and Tena Johnson Lewis.
He was a United States Naval veteran of World War Two, a member of the Sam Jones United Methodist Church in Cartersville, and a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Margaret Kruse Lewis; one daughter, Carmen Heilman of Atlanta, Ga.; two granddaughters: Angie Harris of Cartersville, Ga., and Nikole Dolson of Chicago, Ill.; and five great-grandchildren: Lauren Harris., Parker Harris, and Mia, Jenna. and Avery Dolson.
Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, from the Sunset Memory Gardens, with Dr. Bill Birch officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Friday.
Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive., Cartersville, Ga., is in charge of the arrangements.
