Carlyle Orville Knutson, 67, Gila Bend, Ariz.

Carlyle Orville Knutson, age 67, of Gila Bend, Ariz., was born May 18, 1937, in Albert Lea. He passed away Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Phoenix Baptist Hospital.

Carlyle was a self-employed businessman. He owned an excavating business in Minnesota and did work all over southern Minnesota and northern Iowa, and even a few jobs as far away as Georgia. Carlyle was also a well known man in the antique and classic car business as a supplier of parts for antique Chevrolets.

Carlyle moved his family from Apache Junction, Ariz., to Gila Bend in 1984. In 1994 Carlyle retired and spent a lot of time traveling. They have traveled to Australia and would travel throughout the Midwest during the summer months. In the winter they spent their time at their home in Hawaii. They would stop in Gila Bend between each adventure and spend time with their family.

Carlyle is survived by his wife, Lynn, of 44 years; son, Wayne (Diane) Knutson,

and daughter, Joyce (Rob) Schuster, both of Gila Bend, and a daughter, Julie (Doug) Bronson, of Minnesota. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brian and Eric Schuster, and Bo, Elizabeth, Kenneth and Amanda Knutson.

Carlyle will be cremated. There will be a gathering of his family and friends at a later date.
