Olai Underland Jr. passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2004 in Alpine, Calif. He was 71 Years old.

Olai was born in Ellendale on April 29, 1933. He was the son of Olai and Bergetta Underland and their ninth child in a family of ten children.

Olai attended District 82 Country School and graduated from Ellendale High School. He moved to California in the early 1960s, and worked as a masonry contractor for many years.

Viewing will be today, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with services following at 2 p.m. at Lakeside Funeral Home in Lakeside, Calif.

Preceding Olai in death are his parents: Olai and Bergetta; brothers: Alfred, Einar, Elmer and Marvin Underland; and sisters: Olga Thompson and Alice Thompson Dunn.

Surviving are sisters: Minda Jorgenson of Austin, Borgny Agures of Barnum, Minn., and Sonja Thompsen of Owatonna; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Underland (Einar) and Alvina Underland

(Marvin); as well as many nieces and nephews; and friend and co-worker of 34 years: Jim and Marlus Jenks of El Cajon, CA.

Olai will be missed very much by his family and many friends.
