Henry P. Halverson, 76, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Henry P. Halverson, of Albert Lea, will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6,

at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a scripture prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea area Veterans groups.

Henry died Sunday morning at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 76 years of age.

Henry was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Cornell, Wis., the son of Harold and Bertha (Favre) Halverson. He graduated from high school in Cornell. On June 20, 1949, he was united in marriage to Viola (Vi) Ehleringer. For the past 45 years, Henry has lived in Albert Lea, and was a federal meat inspector for 31 years. He retired in November of 1987.

Henry was an active member of St. Theodore Catholic Church where he was a reader and Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the American Legion and a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus.

In his free time, Henry enjoyed volunteering at the church washing dishes, fishing, hunting and traveling, hunting and traveling, morning coffee with friends,

game shows, playing cards, sports, telling stories and jokes, watching The History Channel, and quiet time saying the rosary along with the TV.

Henry is survived by his wife, Vi of Albert Lea; children: Michael and his wife Diane of Lake City, Minn., Thomas and his wife Kathy of West Fargo, N.D., Dr. Paul and his wife Susie of Sartell, Minn., JoAnn

Bowman and her friend Neil of Albert Lea, and Jeanne and her husband Mark Barlage of Alexandria, Minn.; grandchildren: Amy, Brian, Joey, Jamie and Melanie; step grandchildren: Jason and his wife Monica, Debbie and her husband Wes, Danny and his wife Heidi, Patty; step grandchild, Heidi, Joshua, Eric, Carrie, Zachary, Casey, Nic, Ben and Andrea; one brother, Harold Halverson of Austin; and sister, Monica and her husband Bud Sweeney of Cornell, Wis.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margerite and husband Jim Gschwend; sister-in-law, Lee Halverson; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Halverson.
