Mary L. Cox, 73, Austin

The funeral service for Mary L. Cox, of Austin, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Hayward Lutheran Church, Hayward. The Rev. John Malm will officiate. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.

Mary died on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004 at the Austin Medical Center. She was 73 years old.

Mary was born in rural Austin on March 19, 1931, the daughter of Louis G. and Libbie E. (Pell) Lukes. She attended District 75 school in Freeborn County. She worked in Hollandale picking potatoes. She was married to Lawrence R. Cox on Nov. 19, 1950 at the Trondhjem Lutheran Church. She and her husband farmed in the Myrtle/Oakland area before moving to Austin in 1989.

Mary is survived by her children: Lee (Jeannette) Cox of Rochester, and Gail (Gary) Quam of Jerome, Idaho; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Tom) Walker and their children, Allison and Ashley of Connell, Wash., Michele (Geofferey) Hanson of Rochester,

Quam and fiance, Shelli and their children, Jordon, River and Morgan of Jerome, Idaho; LCPL Matthew Cox of Camp Pendleton, Calif., currently deployed to Iraq; brother, Bob (Dorothy) Lukes of Austin; sisters: Dorothy (Bob) Brown of Austin, and Doris (John) Van House of Austin; brothers-in-law: Harold (Pam) Cox of Austin, and Clarence &uot;Earl&uot; (Phyllis) Cox of Albert Lea; sisters-in-law: Eunice Cox of Austin, Shirley (Marvin) Morgan of Buena Vista, Colo., and Audrey Cox of Hayward; and nephews and nieces.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, parents, aunts, uncles, one niece, one nephew, one brother-in-law, one brother, and parents-in-law.
