Clair Bernard Anderson, 80, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Clair B. Anderson, age 80, of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church. The Rev. Linda Gunderson will officiate. Interment will be in Central Freeborn Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Freeborn County servicemen’s organizations. Clair died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at his home.

Clair Bernard Anderson was born Oct. 26, 1924, to E. Clarence and Silda (Wolff) Anderson in Worth County, Iowa. He was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church in Northwood, Iowa,

and confirmed at the Hayward Lutheran Church. Clair served in the United States Navy during World War II from March 1943 to February 1946 and was stationed in the South Pacific. On Sept. 21, 1947, he was united in marriage to Eunice Heideman at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Myrtle. Clair was a member of Central Freeborn Lutheran Church, American Legion, and VFW. He enjoyed writing, drawing, working with his hands, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice; sons: Mark and his wife Joan, and Philip and his wife Linda; daughters: Andrea White, and Allaire and her friend Craig Grund; granddaughter, Julia White; grandsons: Matthew and his wife Natalie, James, John, David, Lucas, Coleman, and Chandler Anderson, and David and Daniel White; great-grandson, Benjamin Anderson; brother, Marvin R. and his wife Arlyn Anderson; sisters: Pauline and her husband Ersel Coffelt, and Donna Becksted; brothers-in-law: Tom Fulkerson, Elry Wolff, and Harlan and his wife Anna Marie Heideman; and several nieces and nephews.

Clair was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Orville and Elburn; sisters: Karen Fulkerson and Harriet Kvalo; brothers-in-law: Arnold Kvale and Robert Amundson; and sisters-in-law: Helen Amundson and Lois Wolff.
