Former ALHS head coach Larson dies

ST. PAUL (AP) &045; Former Albert Lea High School head football coach Donavon Larson, who recently resigned as head football coach at Hamline University, has died. He was 57.
Larson died Saturday of an apparent heart attack, WCCO Radio reported Sunday.
He announced his retirement last month and planned to retire to Florida with his wife, the station
reported. A retirement celebration was slated for Sunday night at Hamline.
Before coaching at Hamline, Larson spent 14 seasons as an assistant coach at North Dakota State University. He coached in Albert Lea in the mid-1980s.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy, and three children.
