Elmer Edward Richter, 75, Conger

The funeral service for Elmer Edward Richter will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Pickerel Lake. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Burial will be in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.
Elmer died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 75 years old.
Elmer was born in rural Alden on Sept. 24, 1929, the son of George E. and Ella (Briske) Richter. He attended rural Babbit School near Conger. He farmed and ran a saw mill on the family farm where he had been born, west of Conger.
He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling on TV, and especially having daily coffee in his home with his friends.
Elmer is survived by three sisters: Fern (Marvin) Drescher of Albert Lea, Erma (Howard) Colvin of Albert Lea, and Elnora (Nels) Christenson of Ava, Mo.; three brothers: Arthur, Harry and Raymond Richter, all of Alden; sister-in-law, Gilma Richter of Watertown, Minn.; special friend, Gary Turnmire; faithful friend, “Paws;” and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Marie (George) Wacholz, Minnie (George) Jacobson, Frieda (Walter) Jahnke, and Clara (George) Rebelien; one brother, Donald Richter; and two sisters-in-law: Marie Richter and Alma Richter.
Elmer will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Blessed be his memory.
